What we are

Not a hospital. Not a spa.
A medical community with a method.

La Clinique Swiss brings together physicians, residents and final-year medical students from Switzerland around preventive medicine done properly: measured every year, acted on with the least intervention that works, and repeated for decades.

Measure

Thirty-one markers, taken the same way every year, so that small changes are seen early. The value is in the series, not the snapshot.

Act

A written plan for the year ahead, read with you by a physician. The least intervention that works, and nothing sold to you on the way out.

Repeat

Once a year, every year, in the same place, with the same team. Seventy years is the horizon we design for, because that is how long the series has to be to mean something.

Said plainly
  • We are not a hospital and we do not treat illness.
  • We are not a spa, and we are not a supplement brand.
  • We do not sell property. Our partner residences do, on their own terms.
  • We do not promise years of life. We promise the measurement, the plan, and the people.
Why we exist

Medicine knows how to add good years.
It is just not organised to do it.

I trained and worked alongside physicians who could see, in a set of numbers, what a person's next twenty years would look like — and who had eleven minutes and no mandate to do anything about it. Prevention is the part of medicine with the best evidence and the worst business model. Nobody pays for the illness that did not happen.

So we built the thing the other way round. A community of Swiss and Swiss-trained physicians, who measure the same people the same way every year, for decades, at a few residences chosen for the purpose. Not a clinic, because a clinic waits for you to be ill. Not a spa, because a spa does not measure. A method that repeats, and the people who hold it to that.

Switzerland, because that is where the training is and where the standard comes from. A community, because a method only survives if a group of physicians owns it, reviews it and is willing to put their names to it. If you are one of them, the application is below.

The community

Swiss or Swiss-trained.
More than eighty per cent of us.

Our clinical commitment is simple and we put it in writing: more than 80% of the physicians and clinical staff who practise under our name are Swiss or trained at the Swiss faculties — Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich, Basel and Bern.

Every clinician is named, with credentials and institution, in the members' dossier and here, before the founding cohort closes.

01

Physicians

Specialists in internal medicine, cardiology, endocrinology, sports medicine and sleep, who take a rotation of one or more weeks a year at a partner residence and follow their members between visits.

02

Residents and fellows

Physicians in training and final-year medical students, who join a rotation under supervision and run the longitudinal data the community builds.

03

Faculty

Senior clinicians who write the protocol, review the evidence each year and decide what enters the method and what leaves it.

The founding cohort

The first twenty physicians write the protocol everyone after them follows.

We are forming the founding cohort now: 20 physicians and 40 fellows. Applications are reviewed monthly, and the cohort closes when it is full. Founding members hold their place in the community for as long as they practise with us.

The method

One week. Thirty-one markers.
A plan for the year.

Every member spends one week a year with the community, at a partner residence. The week has the same shape everywhere, because the shape is the point.

01

Measured

Fasting bloodwork and the full biomarker panel, on day one.

02

Benchmarked

Body composition, cardiorespiratory capacity, strength and balance.

03

Lived

Movement, heat and cold, real food, structured sleep — in a place built for it.

04

Planned

A written protocol for the year ahead, read with your physician.

Why the series matters

One snapshot tells you where you are. Thirty of them, taken the same way, tell you where you are going.

Where the method lives

We do not build residences.
We choose them.

A small number of residences, in warm places, host our members for their week and give our physicians a place to practise. Each residence sets its own terms and its own price. The medicine is ours, and it is the same everywhere.

The residence provides the place

Suites, a clinical room, movement and water, a kitchen that follows our brief. Built or adapted to our specification.

We provide the medicine

The physicians, the protocol, the annual assessment and the plan. Members are members of the community, wherever they stay.

Members choose where

Members join through a partner residence — the one they want to return to for seventy years — and bring their membership of the community with them.

Partner residences
For residences and developers

Bring Swiss medicine to your residence.

We work with a handful of residences at a time, chosen for the place, the people behind it and the willingness to build to a clinical brief. If you are developing a residence in a warm climate and want a medical community rather than a spa menu, talk to us.

Propose a residence
For physicians and medical students

Practise the medicine you were trained for.
In a place that lets you.

A rotation of one or more weeks a year at a partner residence, your own members to follow over decades, a longitudinal dataset few institutions can match, and a community of colleagues who chose prevention over repair.

01

A rotation, not a relocation

One or more weeks a year at a residence, around your practice at home. Travel and stay are covered by the residence.

02

Your members, for decades

The same people, every year. Continuity that a clinic cannot offer and a hospital cannot afford.

03

The data

A shared, consented, longitudinal series across the whole community, with authorship for those who work on it.

04

The company you keep

A small cohort, reviewed by its own faculty, that decides what enters the method. Founding members write the protocol.

What we ask
  • A Swiss medical qualification, Swiss specialist training, or enrolment at a Swiss medical faculty.
  • A preventive mindset: measure first, intervene least.
  • English and one of German, French or Italian. Spanish is a plus.
  • The willingness to be named, with your credentials, on the members' dossier.

Applications are reviewed on the first week of each month. The founding cohort closes when it is full.

Medical students apply as fellows: a supervised rotation, a research role in the data, and a place in the community from the first year.

How an application goes
  1. 01

    You apply

Ten minutes, one form, a CV if you have it to hand. Nothing else.

  2. 02

    A physician reads it

Not a form, not a recruiter. In the first week of the month, one of the founding physicians reads every application personally.

  3. 03

    A twenty-minute conversation

On video, with a physician of the cohort, within two weeks of the review. About the method, your practice and what a rotation would look like for you.

  4. 04

    A decision in writing

Within a month of the conversation. If it is yes, a letter with the rotation, the residence and what is signed. If it is no, the reason.

I am a medical student

For medical students: the fellowship

Final-year and penultimate-year students at a Swiss faculty join as fellows: a supervised rotation at a partner residence, a research role in the community's longitudinal data with authorship for those who work on it, and a place in the community that continues after graduation.

Questions physicians ask
Is this a job?

No. It is a rotation of one or more weeks a year, around your practice at home, under a separate agreement with the residence that hosts you. Travel and stay are covered by the residence; the terms of the rotation are set out in writing before you commit to anything.

What does the residence cover?

Travel, accommodation and board during your rotation, and the clinical room, equipment and staff you work with. The detail is in the letter of intent and in the residence's agreement.

Do I need Swiss licensing to practise at a residence abroad?

You remain subject to the professional regulation of the jurisdictions where you are licensed. Each partner residence holds the local permissions for the clinical activity on its premises; we confirm them in writing before any rotation.

Who owns the data?

The members own their data and consent to its use. The community holds the longitudinal series under a data agreement; physicians and fellows who work on it have authorship on what is published.

Can I apply from outside Switzerland?

Yes, if you trained at a Swiss faculty or hold Swiss specialist training. The 80% commitment is about training, not residence.

What if I am a student?

Apply as a fellow. The review is the same; the rotation is supervised and the research role is real.

What we do with your details
  • Your application is read by physicians of the community and by no one else.
  • Nothing is shared with a residence without your written agreement.
  • No newsletter, no list. We write when there is something to say about your application.
  • One email withdraws it.

Questions

Questions future members ask.

Are you a clinic?

We are a medical community with a method, not a hospital or a curative clinic. We measure, we plan, we follow you year after year. We do not treat illness; your own physician does, and we work alongside them.

Where are the residences?

In warm places, chosen one at a time. Each partner residence is announced to the waiting list first, with its own terms and price. The medicine is the same everywhere.

Who are the physicians?

More than 80% are Swiss or trained at the Swiss faculties. Every clinician is named, with credentials and institution, in the members' dossier and here before the founding cohort closes.

How do I become a member?

Through a partner residence: you join the residence of your choice and bring your membership of the community with you. If you are not yet with one, join the waiting list and you will hear first.

Is this an investment?

No. We do not sell property, shares or financial products, and neither we nor our partner residences promise any return or resale value. A residence sells a right of use on its own terms; we provide the medicine.

What does a week include?

A full assessment of thirty-one markers, body composition and capacity testing, movement, heat and cold, real food, structured sleep, and a written plan for the year read with your physician. The same shape, every year.

How do physicians work with you?

On a rotation of one or more weeks a year at a partner residence, around their practice at home, with their own members to follow over decades. Applications are reviewed monthly.

Can medical students join?

Yes, as fellows: a supervised rotation, a research role in the community's data, and a place in the community from the first year.

Which languages?

English, German, French, Italian and Spanish, in consultations and in correspondence.

What happens between visits?

The written plan, a quarterly video check-in with your physician, and next year's comparison. Anything that needs local investigation is referred to your own doctor, with a letter from us.

Medical questions
I have a chronic condition. Can I still become a member?

In most cases, yes. Hypertension, treated diabetes, controlled cardiac disease, autoimmune conditions and cancer in remission are all common among the people we expect to serve. We are not a hospital and we do not take over your care: your own physician remains responsible for treating your condition, and we work alongside them. Suitability is assessed individually at application, and where the residence is not an appropriate setting we will say so before you pay anything beyond the reservation.

Where is the nearest hospital, and what happens in an emergency?

Every partner residence is accepted into the network only with a written evacuation protocol and a referral hospital within a defined transfer time. Each residence keeps a clinical room for stabilisation, staffed during your stay. The specifics — the referral hospital, transfer times and route, equipment held, staffing hours, transfer partners and insurance requirements — are set out in that residence's dossier rather than summarised here.

What should I do about my medication?

Bring everything you take, in its original packaging, with a current prescription list. The customs rules of the residence's country apply to certain drug classes; each residence's dossier sets out which ones need documentation. Your physician reviews your full list at intake — including supplements — and will write to your own doctor if anything warrants it, but we do not alter prescriptions issued elsewhere without their involvement.

What about vaccinations and travel insurance?

Vaccination advice depends on the residence's country; check with a travel clinic four to six weeks before you travel. Comprehensive travel and medical insurance, including repatriation cover, is a condition of membership at every partner residence. The minimum cover required is set out in each residence's dossier so that you can check your existing policy rather than buy a new one.
